How inserts work in rotational molded parts
Inserts are loaded into the tool and held in place mechanically with a fastener. During the molding process resin totally encapsulates the insert. The fastener is then removed from the tooling leaving the encapsulated insert within the finished plastic part.
Rotationally molded inserts are simple features to incorporate into part designs. Male or female threaded inserts provide strong and reliable anchoring points for multi-parts assemblies.
